Ayotzinapa

from €450.00

On September 26, 2014, 43 male students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers' College went missing in Iguala, in the Guerrero, Mexico.
They were kidnapped and the official investigation concluded that once the students were in “custody” of the municipal police, they were handed over to the local Guerreros Unidos ("United Warriors") organized crime group and presumably killed, as they were never seen again.

I took this photo in April 2015, during one of the many demonstrations held by the relatives of the students ,who with great resilience march with the portraits of the kidnapped students to keep the memory alive on the tragic event and demand justice.

A photograph can have multiple A.P.s, and some of them may be available for purchase if the rest of the edition is sold out; this is determined on a work-by-work basis.
